Katz Coffee and The Nook Make History for Team UHAA

You might not know Avi Katz ('97), but he knows you. He knows that as a University of Houston alum, you will stop at nothing to support the UH community and university, and he gets it. In fact, Katz is using his Hotel and Restaurant Management degree from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership every day while serving as the founder, owner and proprietor of Katz Coffee as well as the featured vendor at The Nook Cafe, UH’s own homegrown coffee shop, to spread UH love a little bit further.

Katz Coffee is an anchor member of the newly established Team UHAA Corporate Sponsors Program. Each sponsor is committed to seeking engagement, visibility and impact through their partnerships with UHAA. It's a first-of-its-kind platform, blazing a trail in community and alumni engagement.

“The University of Houston and Katz Coffee share a common mission: to improve the city,” said Katz. “The city has an incredible energy of industriousness. UH has demonstrated the same will to succeed, and I've been impressed by the velocity of its rise.”

The Nook features a diverse menu of food and beverage options, including several of Katz Coffee's favorite blends. It is also a dynamic destination for evening engagement with friends, Cougar game day fun or entertainment on The Nook's outdoor patio. Cougar alumni can celebrate their Cougar Pride with a Katz Coffee specialty blend and explore other UH-branded coffee varieties.
